Collins N. Udanor (Ph.D)
Chair, HiPIC Lab
Dr. Collins Udanor is an Associate Professor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence). He teaches in the Department of Computer Science, University of Nigeria Nsukka. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, a Masters Degree in Computer Science (Data Communications Specialist), and a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering (Intelligent Agent Systems Specialist). He has advanced trainings and certifications in Cloud Computing & Network Virtualization, Internet of Things (IoT), Data Science, Grant Writing and Online Lecture Delivery, etc. He has skills in Data analytics, and multi-agent learning systems pedagogy. Collins Udanor leads a University research group, the High Performance and Intelligence Computing group (HiPIC, hipiclab.org), a cross-disciplinary research group based in the Department of Computer Science. He has won several project grants funded by the Lacuna Fund (2020), Nvidia Developer Program 2022, UNESCO-HP (2009-2013), Google (2011), Nigeria’s Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund, 2016, 2020), etc. He is also an Oracle Academy Faculty Prize winner in Artificial Intelligence, 2019. His project experiences include Network Virtualization, Cloud, Grid, and Edge Computing, etc. Prof. Collins Udanor leads the Labour and Productivity cluster of the Volunteer Expert Group (VEG) on the formulation of Artificial Intelligence Policy for Nigeria. He has also been involved in several international project collaborations across Europe and Africa, some of which include; the HP-UNESCO Brain Gain Initiative (BGI), the eI4Africa project, EU Horizon 2020 projects, WACREN, Sci-GaAI, EU Grid Forum, ITU Study Group 13, etc. In 2011 he led the team that developed the Pidgin Search Engine for Google. Dr. Collins Udanor has more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings indexed and ranked by Clarivate Analytics, Springer, Scopus, etc.

Paulinus O. Ugwoke (Ph.D)
Dr. Paulinus O. Ugwoke is currently an Assistant Director, Faculty
Member, and the Group Head of Research, Innovation, and Consultancy
Department at the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) of the Nigerian
Communications Commission, Abuja, Nigeria. He is an analytical and
detail-oriented problem solver with a strong work ethics and good
technical skills to match appropriate computing resources to business
requirements. He has over 15 years of industrial work experience in
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector with a deep
experience in designing and building Internet based Software Applications.
He facilitated the establishment of United Nation’s International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) Academy Training Centre (ATC) in Nigeria (2022) at DBI,
where is currently serving as the coordinator. He also, attracted from South Korean Government,
the establishment of Information Access Centre (IAC) which includes AI Development Centre
(2023) in Nigeria. Formally the DBI coordinator of ITU Centre of excellence (CoE) for Africa,
part of the ITU Africa’s CoE network. Formally the Head of Research, Education, and Training
Dept of DBI. He also doubled as the Head of DBI Lagos campus (2015-2021) as well as the
Rector of Enterprise Innovation Institute of the campus (2016-2021) comprising of five (5)
National Innovation Diploma (NID) programmes (Computer Software Engineering,
Telecommunication Technology, Multimedia Technology, Networking and System Security, and
Computer Hardware Engineering).
Before joining DBI, he was a Principal System Analyst/Senior Engineer (Software) at Joint
Komputer Kompany (JKK) PLC, Lagos, the premier ICT company in Nigeria. He has good
experience in using advanced technologies for analysis, design, implementation, and deployment
of systems that solve business problems. At JKK, he designed and implemented several Software
systems on client/server and web architectures for both local and international companies.
He earned a Ph.D (Computer Science with specializations in Software Engineering and Artificial
Intelligence) and B.Sc. (Combined Hons, Computer Science and Statistics) both from the
University of Nigeria. Also holds M.Sc. (Computer Science with specialization in Software
Engineering), and M.Sc. (Statistics) degrees both from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He has
completed and earned certificates in over 40 IT/Telecommunication technical courses. Dr.
Ugwoke has also published several articles in Journals and conferences (both local and
International). His research interests cut across Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering,
Internet of Things (IoTs), High-performance computing, Algorithmic designs/optimization,
Cloud Computing, as well as Data Analytics.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (FRSS), UK. He is also a member of the Institute
of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (IEEE), USA, and a member of the International
Association of Engineers (MIAENG), Hong Kong.

Uzo Blessing
Machine Learning, NLP, Optimization
Uzo Blessing Chimezie is a female lecturer in the Computer Science Department at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Uzo's research focus lies in Artificial Intelligence, specifically in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision, as well as Optimization. Her work has been published in various reputable journals.

Mary Ofuru Kama
Data Science, Machine Learning
Mary Ofuru Kama is an assistant lecturer at software Engineering department in Veritas University, Nigeria. She holds a B.Sc in Computer Science (2014) from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, and also completed her master’s degree program in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she developed a penchant for scientific research. So far, she has co-authored an article on Appointments Hospital Management for Patients And a conference paper and developed an app for an Automated Temperature control System for Chemistry Laboratory using MQTT IoT. This was an off shoot of her MSc research in the University of Kairoun, Tunisia.
Furthermore, She has attended three conferences and published books of abstract on An IoT Sensor-Based Fish Pond Data Set for Predicting Fish Growth" and “Public Sentiment Towards petrol Price Increase in Nigeria, papers presented at the 6th International Workshop and Conferenceof The Nigerian Society for Mathematical Biology (NSMB)
She joined the Veritas University in 2022 as an assistant lecturer. She is a Data science enthusiast who is resilient and passionate about using data to solve complex problems by exploring, analyzing and creating visualizations on the data for users understanding to make data-driven decisions for business growth. Kama Mary derives so much joy from data exploration, analysis and developing meaningful insights from raw data to an interesting story telling about the data and making predictions from the data set. She has strong analytical, technical skills. She is seeking a challenging role in a renewed organization where she can develop her data science and machine learning skills in technical industry and the world at large thereby contributing her own quota in the tech eco-system and to the growth of the organization while aligning her goals to the goal of the organization.
Additionally, she is in collaboration with tech4dev and Women in Data Science (WIDS), Abuja branch to mentor the young girls about tech.

Blessing Ogbuokiri
Blessing Ogbuokiri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Brock University, Canada. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow and instructor at York University's Africa-Canada Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation Consortium Lab in Toronto, Canada, within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His work focuses on the intersection of AI and health, helping communities and governments tackle infectious diseases. He collaborates with researchers from various fields and was a co-chair at the NeurIPS 2023 conference (Affinity Workshops) and organizes the Black in AI Workshop. This demonstrates his commitment to making AI inclusive and sharing knowledge within the community. Through his efforts, he is using AI to address real health issues effectively.
